Xinhua News Agency, Minsk, May 27 (Reporter Lu Jinbo) Belarusian President Lukashenko called on Eurasian Economic Union’s emergency reorganization logistics system on the 27th to ensure agricultural transportation. Lukashenko attended the Supreme Council meeting of the Eurasian Economic Council through video. The Eurasian Economic Alliance should urgently reorganize the logistics system to promote the "Eurasian Agricultural Express" project to ensure that the agricultural railway transportation is unimpeded.
Lukashenko said that in the face of geopolitical tensions and Western sanctions, all parties should unite to take unified action. He said that the Eurasian Economic Union is in a proactive position in ensuring food security. However, considering the global demand for agricultural products, all parties need to closely coordinate to prevent commodity shortage.
Eurasian Economic Alliance was established in 2015. Members include Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. The Supreme Council of the Eurasian Economic Council is the highest authority of the Eurasian Economic Union.
